What If? Metropolis | Maya Composition Experiments




After receiving my OGR feedback i went onto Maya and created some simple shapes that resembled the buildings that i plan to use for my final concept art.  To give the more 'Human' feel i placed a static camera on the floor of the scene to give that heightened and haughty sense of the buildings. Personally i feel like the second attempt is the strongest.

I feel as if you're crowding your main building; can I suggest you do a 'floor plan' - i.e. work out a rational, organised relationship between your various buildings as a bird's-eye layout; figure out the respective sizes, put the assets onto the plan and then think about camera placement. Right now, there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason as to why the building are grouped as they are and I'd suggest that in this city, everything would be 'just so' and nicely arranged in terms of city planning.
